Location: Kanata, Ontario
Job Status: Full-time
Purpose:
As a senior level professional, the Corporate Controller will provide leadership to a small team of finance professionals and clerks, and is responsible for overseeing the controller function of the overall business on a global scale. This position reports directly to our VP, Finance.
Responsibilities generally include:
Responsible for coordinating, administering and controlling financial operations.
Directs all aspects of financial accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Account Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash Flow and Financial Reporting.
Oversees the development of financial accounting systems required to maintain accurate and timely reporting requirements.
Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives.
Makes final decisions on administrative or operations matters and ensures operations effective achievement of objectives.
Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in in-depth knowledge on the company.
Interacts internally and externally with executive level management requiring negotiation of critical matters.
Influences policymaking.
Directs and controls the activities of one or more functional areas through senior managers who have overall accountability for the successful operation of those assigned areas.
Skills/Qualifications/Education:
Generally requires completion of a post secondary degree program in Business Administration with a recognized professional accounting program designation (CMA/CGA/CA)
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive and diversified experience in a financial environment
Knowledge and understanding of US GAAP, SEC and Sarbanes–Oxley reporting requirements
