*Please note that this is a temporary assignment for approximately 6 months.

Job Description

As the Regional Web Developer, your responsibilities will include designing, developing and maintaining: regional news pages, location/station/region pages, community outreach pages, and regional CBC Radio/TV programming support pages. The role of this position is to support and serve internal clients within established guidelines and standards.

The successful candidate will be located in Ottawa and will support two CBC websites: www.cbc.ca/ottawa and www.cbc.ca/montreal.


Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate who has the following qualifications:

- Computer Science degree or certification, or web design certification or equivalent work experience.
- Two or three years experience working in a web Developer capacity.
- Skilled in the following: HTML, JavaScript, web design principles, graphic design Software, Mac's and PC's, CSS, JSP (familiar with include protocol), windows media (video and audio editing skills) and other audio/video player systems.
- Previous experience designing websites or web pages.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Understanding of CBC's role in the Canadian Broadcasting environment.
- Understanding of the radio and television broadcast industries.
- Familiarization with CBC's journalistic standards and practices would be an asset.
An online portfolio of your work is required.
