Description The Canadian Association of Broadcasters (CAB) is the national voice of Canada`s private broadcasters, representing the vast majority of Canadian programming services, including private radio and television stations, networks, specialty, pay and pay-per-view services. The goal of the CAB is to represent and advance the interests of Canada`s private broadcasters in the social, cultural and economic fabric of the country. The CAB requires a bilingual Vice-President, Government Relations to join its team.
VICE-PRESIDENT, GOVERNMENT RELATIONS
Reporting to the Executive Vice-President, Strategic Policy and Public Affairs Planning, the Vice-President, Government Relations will develop and implement strategic government relations plans; manage issues and priorities related to government activities; communicate the policies and views of the Association to the government; and, provide strategic advice, briefings and reports.

Qualifications The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in government relations at the federal level, in-depth knowledge of the legislative process and the inner workings of government, including the CRTC. Issues management experience, solid experience drafting reports dealing with complex issues, an extensive network among Ottawa policy makers, and an ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines are also required. Strong interpersonal skills are essential. Familiarity with the broadcasting policy and regulatory regime would be an asset.
